My name is Kay and I’m a grateful recovering addict. I started using from the age of 16, feeling different from everyone else I started using to fit in. Cocaine, cannabis and alcohol were my go to most days. I had my first child at 18 and struggled as a young mother by 27 I had 4 children and struggled to be emotionally available. In 2018 my using took off due to losing my dad, I started using crack and heroin. Within months I’d lost my children my home and done things I never thought I was capable of.

Kay, I only knew a little bit of your story from the times we have met. You will be an inspiration to other mums who have been separated from their children because of addiction.
